ANNOUNCEMENTS

It's been 20 years!!

 

Hello everyone! We are having our 20 year reunion October 13. That is the weekend of MCHS's homecoming. We have arranged to have a float in the homecoming parade, so come help decorate and let's ride through Chatsworth! For those who want to go to the football game, we will have a section reserved for us all to sit together. You are responsible for purchasing your own tickets to the game.

Our reunion is Saturday evening, October 13, at the American Legion. It starts at 7:00pm and ends at 11:00pm. The cost...

for the reunion is $40.00 per couple, $20.00 per person. Dinner is included. There will be a bar and you may purchase up to four tickets for alcoholic drinks. Each ticket costs $3.00.

You may come by the Chatsworth/Murray Chamber of Commerce September 22, from 6:00pm-8:00pm to pay for the reunion and purchase drink tickets. If you cannot make it that day, please mail checks to:

All Payments must be received BY October 5th. Make checks payable to: MCHS 1992 Reunion. No tickets will be sold at the door. No exceptions!

If you are interested in helping with the reunion, please post a comment here. If you know anyone who is not listed in the invite, please add him/her. Also, there are people who do not have facebook accounts. If you know any such person, let them know about the reunion. We don't anyone to miss this chance to catch up with old friends.

Tina Reed was selected Homecoming Queen.

Joanna Jackson was selected Football Sweetheart.

Matt Penland was selected Football Beau.

Andrea Bryson was selected Basketball Sweetheart.

Mitchell Souther was Basketball Beau.

Jon Harkleroad and Heather Bowers were Mr. and Miss MCHS.

Traci Harrison was Miss Arrowhead.

Celeste Harrison represented MC as the"Young Woman of the Year."

The football team was Region7AAA North Runners-up.

The basketball team was Region 7AAA North Champions and Region 7AAA Runners-up.

Nora Ward was named to the All-North Georgia Softball Team.

Sheila Bowen was named to the All-Area Softball Team.

Jennifer Chadwick was the Area Leading Hitter in Softball.

Matt Penland, Jon Harkleroad, Jason Griffin, and David Black were named to the All-Area Football Team; with Matt, Jon, and Jason being named to the All-North GA Team.

Cassie McNeill was Star Student.

Valerie Young and Brian Boatwright were selected to All-State Band.

Shalina Sluder and Paul Bryant were selected to All-State Chorus.

Jon Harkleroad, Matt Penland, and Jason Griffin were selected to All-Area Baseball Team.

Jon Harkleroad was selected to play in the Northwest GA All-Star Baseball Game.

Matt Penland was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Football Game in July.

David Black was the Fidelity Federal Student Advisory Scholarship winner.

Traci Dunn was the Galaxy Carpet Mills Scholarship winner.

MCHS received the GA School of Excellence Award.

The golf team made it to the playoffs(the first ever) and placed 11th.

The girls tennis team was 7AAA Champions.

Eric Bishop was second in the state in track.

Grant Starks and Greg Hayes were selected to the All-Area Golf Team.

Intramural games were held each Monday morning.

The Home Ec Department was awarded the Industrial Certification(only 11 schools in the nation are certified).

Seniors won the gold on Olympic Day.

The Senior Boys basketball team bet the Faculty team.

Someone broke into the school.

Heath Paige won Miss Peach Blossom.

Angie Loughridge won the "Bad Woman" contest.

Tera Hamontree was chosen to represent MCHS Cheerleaders in London, England.

Most ever Seniors signed to Scholorships for college(8).

This was the last page of our newspaper, "Spear-It", congratulating the class of 1992 and dedicated to Amanda Worley who passed away May 7 of that year.
