Jay Gorney Spirit Scholarship Please donate!

As the Cleveland Hill class of 99’ celebrates their 10 year reunion we will remember our great friend Jay who lost his life on June 9, 2007 after a short battle with cancer.

It is very difficult to put into words exactly who Jay Gorney was. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have ever been in the presence of him can attest to the spirit and energy of Jason. He simply enjoyed life and spread happiness and laughter to all around him.

While we are very sad that Jay is not with us to celebrate our 10 year reunion, we believe it is important to keep his spirit alive in each of us. For Jay was a true friend, with enough spirit and heart for all of us to share.

In loving memory of Jason, the Class of 1999 would like to award a graduating student of the Class of 2009 with the ‘Jason Gorney Spirit Scholarship’. As far as school spirit was concerned Jason, he was the epitome of eagle pride. It was as if blue and gold ran through his veins. Spirit is defined as an individual who portrays true enthusiasm, pride and loyalty to their school. We would like to proudly reward the student who displays the most school spirit and who meets the criteria we have established for this scholarship.

Furthermore, the class of 1999 is requesting your generosity to benefit the “Jay Gorney Spirit” Scholarship. We are asking for donations of any size to help Cleveland Hill remember Jay and his spirit. Let us celebrate Jason’s life by appreciating a student who embodies the kind of spirit that this world needs more of.

We Thank you ahead of time for your support and generosity. We will accept checks payable to the “Jay Gorney Scholarship Fund”. Donations can be dropped off directly or mailed to Dennis Corsaro at the Cleveland Hill District Office: 3660 Harlem Rd. Cheektowaga, NY 14225
