It's a typical day for me as a "Rook".  Class is over and I'm going to Freshman football practice. I remember leaving the Library, (a place for me to hide from going back to the dorms).

I traveled under the walk-way, (between "Old Main" and the "Chem.Building") thinking, "Bob, this area behind Old Main is where you are going to spend your weekends Walking Tours", wondering, " are all the other companies as tough as Capt John Dishaw's, C Company,  First Sgt. George Fox is making me and my room-mate Gary Garnick's life miserable.

As I walk up the hill I see maybe 35 class-mates (with rifles) drilling, (learning how to handle "Trick Drills").  All wanting to be selected for membership in Company Q-5.  I have seen "Pershing Rifle Trick Team" perform during home Football Half-times and was impressed. These new "Rooks" were really concentrating....You could tell they all wanted to be selected, (and be able to wear the "Blue Pershing Rifle badge).

I stop for a minute to watch and I see Eddie Farrell,( a fellow NewYorker) really giving it his all. He was really in shape and I could tell he was very good at it. I made a mental note to get to know him.

He made the cut.

It's Army Navy Saturday 2018 when I get a call from Eddie Farrell. After a while he tells me about his Heart Surgery on Monday 12/10/18. He was upbeat, but after questioning him about the procedure, I got the sense that he knew he was in for a fight. During the conversation he was telling me about Eddie Carpenter coming home and starting to walk 80 steps at home and that he saw Chic Goebel recently etc. I thought to myself.."Ed Farrell you are one special guy, your love of PMC Class of 66 is outstanding".  I, along with countless classmates, pray for your successful procedure and recovery.

Amen Bobby,
And already Ed is setting up another luncheon in Bethlehem PA.  Less than a month out of the hospital.

Well Done Ed.
