The Reunion Committee planned our reunion to coincide with Schurz High School's Centennial Celebration. We asked to hold a Sock Hop in the gym and the School thought that was such a good idea, they planned a Sock Hop for all alumni, so our Sock Hop will be held at the Crowne Plaza. We asked about tours for our class on Saturday and received this response:

When the centennial committee began planning this event last May, we decided early on that this had to be an "all or nothing" event.  Since this was the policy we established early on, it's really hard to make exceptions. In addition to raising funds to benefit the future of our school, please consider the cost to the Alumni Association for holding this event.  We must obtain building permits, pay overtime for building engineers, security, emergency personnel, as well as provide insurance for the event.

The following events held at Schurz High School on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon do not conflict with our 50th reunion events at the Crowne Plaza:

Put on your dancing shoes and rewind to the old days with a Sock Hop in the school. Tour the high school with student guides.

 In the Schurz auditorium, alumni will perform under the direction of former teacher, Jeff Berke. Schurz alum, Bob Dekas will be speaking, along with radio personality, Rick Kogan. New alumni will be inducted into the Schurz Alumni Hall and Reunions by Decade will held throughout the building.

 In essence, if you want to have a tour of the School on Saturday, the cost will be $50 per person; however, that ticket entitles you to attend the Centennial Celebration on Sunday. More information is available at this website:
