After high school, I continued my education at Wright Junior College for one year. I spent two years in the military as a Military Policeman. After the military, I got into electrical construction and worked as a lineman for forty years. I was employed with the City of Chicago, Bureau of Electricity for thirty one years and retired in 2004. I am married to my wife Carylin for over twenty years. I have one son Paul Hedstrom, Junior through a previous marriage. My wife has two children, Veronica Pettry and Christopher Pettry through a previous marriage. Together we have five grandchildren, Luc Hedstrom Willow Hedstrom, Alex Pettry, Brandon Pettry and Jessica Pettry.
