Attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana – BS in 1964 and MS in 1965. Taught mathematics at Conant H. S. in Hoffman Estates for a year, then returned to Champaign after I married Charles Dollins. Taught mathematics at Urbana High School for a year, then quit to work on my Ph. D.
In 1968 we moved to the Pittsburgh area. I began my 27-year mathematics-teaching career at the McKeesport Campus of Penn State. Chuck worked for Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory as a materials scientist, then as an investment advisor.
I retired from Penn State in 1995 at the age of 51. Since then I’ve been writing web pages, playing English handbells, making quilts (most with geometric themes – surprise!), working on the garden railway (I do the gardening and build the model buildings and Chuck makes the trains go), and researching the family history. With a friend, I founded QuiltPittsburgh.org, dedicated to publicizing information about quilting in the greater Pittsburgh area.
