Walt Waddington was a classmate of mine in grade school and at Schurz. He was a quiet guy and except for his height and athletic ability, playing on both the varsity football and basketball teams, he might have gone un-noticed. He died too young! His death was caused by an injury he received while playing a basketball game in the Schurz gymnasium. The memory of Walt Waddington remains with me and his classmates, as do the memories of other classmates we have lost during the intervening years. You played a good game, Walt!
