Joseph C. Strance

Joseph C. Strance 1940 - 2016

Joseph "Joe" C. Strance, 75, of Huntley, passed away suddenly on Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

He was born September 24, 1940, on the Sox side of Chicago, theson of Kasmir and Jean (Marshall) Strance. He graduated Fenger High School later the University of Illinois in Champagne. He enlisted and served in the United State Marines. On October 2, 1971, he was united in marriage to Laurene M. Kytle. The couple lived in Chicago for a short time then moved to Park Ridge where they raised their family. He taught math at the Hyde Park Career Academy, had owned a paint shop and a Christian book store. He later obtained his Masters in Education and continued teaching until retiring in 2000 and moving to Huntley. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, hiking, rock climbing and volunteering at local nature reserves. He loved the White Sox and enjoyed restoring property at Conference Point.

He is survived by his wife, Laurene of Huntley; his daughters, Autumn (Jeff) Vehrs of Algonquin and Janiece (Steve) Golden of St. Petersburgh, Florida; his grandchildren, Hannah, Faith & Kyle; his brother, Robert (Beverly) Strance of LaGrange; and his sister, Janet (Ken) Murray of Wheaton.
