Sidney (Tim) Aubrey Stein began his soulical flight on October 23, 2023 at 2:40am, passing from this earthly life due to complications from a recent illness.
He was born on July 12, 1941 to Sidney and Margaret Stein of Chillicothe, Ohio. Tim graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1959, remaining lifelong friends with his classmates.  He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he played football under the legendary coach, Bo Schembechler.  Tim was also a member of the wrestling team.  After graduation he taught mathematics and coached wrestling. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, he played for them his rookie year.
Later, he went to work in the mill for Republic Steel, eventually becoming a salesman.  Moving to Indianapolis, he and his first wife Barbara operated the Bowsprit Pub.  Tim was a member of the Masonic Order of Scottish Rite.  As an outstanding athlete, Tim played on the Indy Reds Rugby team, later coaching rugby at Indiana University. He was a fan of the OSU Buckeyes as well as an avid fan of NCAA college
basketball.
Tim eventually moved to southern Indiana where he headed a large organic farm operation.  It is also where he met his wife, Marjorie.
Returning to Chillicothe, he loved to spend time hiking Buzzard’s Roost and riding the bike trails.  He loved carpentry and designed countless building projects with friend Dan Silcott.
Tim loved adventure, described by one friend as “undaunted”.  He loved sailing, skiing, playing the bagpipes, meeting new people and studying comparative religion. He was a spiritual man, loyal to God and Country.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Marjorie, as well as children; Cassie Stein of New York, NY, Julie Ayala of Hamstead, NC, Jay Stein of Elizabeth City, NC; Step-children Harmony Nelson of Spanaway, WA, Gemini Wright of Chillicothe, OH, Beth Wright of Bloomington, IN, Abidan Wright of Shoals, IN, Brutus Wright of Williams, IN; sisters, Margaret Stein of Vero Beach, FL, Gretchen Steele of Chillicothe, OH, Sarah Sagle of
Nashville, TN; and nephews,  Ben Steele of Chillicothe, OH, Jed Steele of Chillicothe, OH, and Jacob Sagle of Knoxville, TN.
A beloved husband and father, he is survived by numerous grandchildren who all adored “Grampy Tim”.  He will be missed by his family, friends, and especially fellow rugby players.  It is hard to put into words the million ways he touched so many lives.  He remains an inspiration to us all.
The family sincerely thank the Embassy of Valley View staff in Frankfort, Ohio for their excellent care.
According to Tim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Private burial will be held at a later date.
