Ned T. Artman

    A Chillicothe physician's son, Ned T. Artman, 34,  of 1360 North Lake Shore Drive - Chicago, Illinois was killed Saturday night October 16 in an auto accident in that city.

    The accident occurred at 11:20 at Dearborn Street and Hubbard Avenue.

    According to the police report, David Borek, 18, of Chicago was driving east on Hubbard Avenue and apparently ran a stop sign and hit the Artman car.

    Borek and his passenger, Diane Mazzoti, 16, of Chicago were treated for minor injuries at Henrotin Hospital in Chicago.

    Chicago police charged Borek with failure to yield the right of way.

    Artman was employed in the public relations department of the Sears Roebuck Corporation in the offices in the Sears Tower, Chicago.

    He was born November 5, 1941 in Chillicohte to Dr. Edwin H. and Louise Smith Artman, who live at 121 Baywood Lane - Lake White.

    Also surviving is a brother, Thomas E. of Cuba, Illinois.

    Artman, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, attended Wittenberg University for two and one-half years and graduated from Ohio State University in December 1966.  He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity, Sigma Delta Chi professional journalism fraternity and the Chicago Press Club.

    He was a Navy veteran.

    Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. James Grove officiating.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

    Friends may visit with the family at the Lake White residence.

    Memorial tributes may be made to the Medical Center Hospital Development Fund.
