    Barbara Ellen Dowler, 59, of Chillicothe died 5:12 p.m. Saturday March 4, 2000 at her residence having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 1991.

    She was born December 11, 1940 in Chillicothe to the late Harold B. and Mary A. Hettinger Evans.  She was married December 31, 1985 to Warren E. Dowler, who survives.

    Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Annette G. and Richard Cunningham, Indian Harbor Beach, Florida and Christina L. and Kraig Farris, McDonough, Georgia; son David A. Bryan, Huntington, West Virginia; stepchildren Warren E. Jr. and his wife Kathy Dowler, Tarlton, Ohio; James A. Dowler, Kettering; Teresa J. and her husband Tim Jones, Columbus; and Karen L. and Sgt. 1st Class Roger Jones, Nurembery, Germany; 17 grandchildren; a brother Armone L. Evans, Miami, Florida; half sister Julia Girty, Hamilton; and aunt martha and her husband Harold Edwards, Columbus; two nieces; and two nephews.  She was predeceased by an infant half sister, Patsy Evans.

    Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church, its Rebekah Circle, and its Craft Club.  She had attended the local schools and was a graduate of Ohio University.  She was a member of the Ross County Genealogical Society and the Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the D.A.R..

    Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Dana Hakes officiating.  A private burial wil follow in Floral Hils Memory Gardens.  Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.
