    Robert A. Jenkins, Sr., 60, of Maple Grove Road, Chillicothe died 7:26 p.m. Thursday February 18, 1999 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

    He was born August 22, 1938 in Ross County to the late James and Josie Freeman Jenkins.  He was married April 23, 1959 to Barbara Brofft who survives.

    Also surviving are daughter and son-in-law Sharon and David Wolford of Chillicothe; sons and daughters-in-law Robert, Jr. and Maralyn Jenkins of Galloway, Ohio and Kenneth A. and Connie Jenkins of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren, Danielle, Megan, Rachelle, Ronnie, Angie, Bobby,  Steven, Marc, and Allen; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Evelyn Benson of Chillicothe.  He was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.

    Robert had served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and had retired September 30, 1995 from the Mead Corp. where he had worked for 37 1/2 years.  He was a member and past deacon of the Chillicothe Baptist Church where he had been a member for 36 years.  He was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731.

    Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor John Burris officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad.  Friends may call at Ware's 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Chillicothe Baptist Church.
