(05/29/41 – 11/09/23)

Francis Geyer of Chillicothe, Ohio, passed away at Signature Healthcare  of Chillicothe on November 9, 2023, following a sudden health issue. He was born on May 29th, 1941, in Chillicothe to the late Richard Geyer and Betty (Needham) Geyer and was baptized at St. Mary Church in Chillicothe on November 2nd, 1941.

He is survived by one son, Jonathon Scott Geyer of Glendive, Montana, three grandchildren, Matthew Jeffrey, Jaqueline Marian and Sofia Gracie of Phoenix, Arizona, cousin, Diana M. Needham of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, trusted friend, Stephen Steele of Chillicothe, and many acquaintances and friends met along the way.

Following his high school graduation, Francis enlisted in the Army where he developed a love for travel, meeting people of diverse backgrounds and cultures, and lifelong learning. He graduated from Franklin University in Columbus and held many careers in sales, real estate, advertising, and marketing for small businesses.

Over time he developed a love of art and became a highly valuable salesperson in fine art galleries in Santa Fe, Aspen, Columbus, and other cities.  He also took on modeling roles for art programs at the Columbus School of Art and Design, The Savannah College of Art and Design, and the College of Charleston School of the Arts.  As an actor-model and member of the Screen Actors Guild, he was most proud of his role as the sheriff in the 1994 Academy award winning movie, Forrest Gump.

Francis embraced a healthy lifestyle and strongly believed that fitness is the key to living a full, active, and long life. An avid continual learner, he invested time in researching the latest developments in health and fitness and applying new findings into his lifestyle. Despite multiple injuries from a life-threatening accident in 2014, movement and exercise were an important part of his daily routine.

Family and close friends will conduct a private celebration of life. No public memorial service will be held.
