Harkins, Donald Roger (02/16/41-05/15/23)

     Donald Roger Harkins, 82, of Sharpsburg, Georgia, passed away May 15, 2023. He was born on February 16, 1941, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Donald and Mary (Long) Harkins.

     Donald retired from K-Mart in 1996 after 38 years of dedicated service.

     Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dale and Annabel Brown; grandson, Brian Kennedy; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Harkins. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Patty” Harkins; children, Dalene (Craig) Kennedy, Roger Alan Harkins and Robert (Sheryl) Harkins; grandchildren, Jimmy (Bianca) Beam, Patti (Michael) Johnson, Brooke Harkins, Alden Harkins, Megan Harkins and Tyler Harkins; brothers, James Harkins and Richard (Janet) Harkins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob (Bev) Brown; several nieces and nephews; special high school friends, Wendell (Shari) Tackett; special cousin, Betty Woods; as well as extended family and friends.

     A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church, Sharpsburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
