Robert A. “Mike” Miller, 75, died at 8:19am July 2, 2017, at his residence following a brief battle with cancer.  Never wavering in his faith, Mike was determined to live as a witness for Christ.  Mike was known as Papaw to his grandchildren, who loved him, and were loved by him more than anything in the world.

He was born July 10, 1941, in Chillicothe, to the late John and Marguerite (Hollis) Miller.  On June 30, 1968, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth J. “Libby” Kingery, who survives.

Also surviving are his son Mike Miller, of Cincinnati, daughter and son-in-law Ashley (John) Scott, Bainbridge; grandchildren: Carly and Andy Miller, Cincinnati, and Jay and Annie Beth Scott, Bainbridge; and his brother Patrick (Linda) Miller, West Chester, OH.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Christine Miller.

Mike was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1959.  He served his country in the US Army from 1962-1965, when he was honorably discharged.  He retired from CHILPACO in 2006, where he worked as a machine operator.  Mike was a member of Bethel Chapel Christian Union Church, where he faithfully served as the Third Elder.  Both his family and church family were very important to him.

Some of Mike’s favorite sayings were “Go for quality”, “Hee haw” and “I’ll deck ya and I won’t think twice!”

Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday, July 13, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Twin Twp. Cemetery, Bourneville.  Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7pm at Haller’s.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13.
