Steven B. Stevens

(07/03/41 - 10/06/12) -

Steven B. Stevens, 71, started his broadcasting career in his hometown of Chillicothe, Ohio. He relocated to Cincinnati to join the WLWT-TV news team as the weekend anchor and reporter from St. Louis where he was a newscaster on the number-one rated KXOK. He is a 2009 inductee to the "St. Louis Broadcast Hall of Fame."

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gisela (Schmidtke) Stevens. They have four daughters: Stephanie, who preceded him in death in 1982; Kristi Jacobsen (Ole), and children Leif and Elias; Lindsey Stevens; and Hilary Oswald (Sean).

Steven recorded many Bible translations that have been duplicated millions of times. He was a Christian businessman who was passionate about increasing quality of life by staying healthy.

Steven wanted everyone to know the good news of Jesus. He supported missionaries worldwide, made over 20 trips to Africa, and led many groups into Russia, bringing in medical supplies and Bibles.

Steven was full of vitality and joy and will be missed by many; a memorial service will be held at Vineyard Cincinnati Church in Springdale on Wednesday, October 10 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to the Steven B. Stevens Foundation to support missions. To express condolence:  Grunnfuneralhome.com
