Glen A. Tyler

     Glenn A. Tyler, 72, of Chillicothe, one of God's angels, was taken home at 5:05am Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a year-long courageous battle with cancer.

     He was born February 11, 1938 in Ross County to Edward and Marinda Saultz Tyler.   On December 20, 1959 he married the former Barbara L. Wyckoff who survives.

     Also surviving are children; Starr Lynn (James) Hartley, Stacey Lee Tyler, and Shelley LaNay Tyler, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Christy, Dustin, Jason, and Justin; great-grandchildren: Lacey, Maddy, and Colton and another great grandson due to arrive in December; brothers: Herman Tyler of Wimauma, Florida, Timothy (Carol) Tyler of McArthur and Robert Rowland of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     He was predeceased by his father and stepmother, Edward and Margaret Tyler; mother Marinda Rowland; sisters: Flossie Mae Tyler and Marybelle Creasap; brothers: William, Thomas, Franklin, and David Tyler; a sister-in-law Gertie Tyler; and a brother-in-law Bill Creasap.

     Glenn served in the National Guard for several years.  He had attended the First Church of the Nazarene.  He retired from Chilpaco after 39 years, and following retirement from Mead he worked part-time at the Chillicothe Country Club Golf Course.

     Glenn volunteered at the Chillicothe Veterans Administration Medical Center Golf Course.  He loved to play golf, was a former member of the Igniters Car Club and was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 988.

     The family wants to thank the Chillicothe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Staff for the excellent care given to Glenn.

    Funeral services will be held 10:30am Saturday, November 6, 2010 in the Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Everidge officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at Ware's from 5:00 to 9:00pm Friday.
