     Joy Irene Whitaker Weaver, 74, of Newark, Ohio passed away Friday September 4, 2015 at her home.  Joy was  born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Samuel and Rose Eleanor Donaldson Whitaker.  Joy graduated in 1959 from Chillicothe High School and attended The Ohio State University.  She retired from the Dow Chemical Company, Granville Research Center, and had worked at Harbor Hills Country Club, The Legends at Locust Lane, and the Granville Golf Course.  Joy volunteered at Twigs 8 Gift Shop, the Licking County Library, and the Licking County Genealogical Society.  She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

     She is survived by her daughters, Jane Weaver, and Beth Ann Hogon, along with grandchildren and a great-grandson.  She is survived by a brother, William H. Whitaker, sisters Beverly Jean Morrow, Meredith Lee McPherson, and Gretchen Louise VanCamp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Elizabeth Brunner.  A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on September 8 at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home in Newark.  Burial will be at Miami Cemetery in Waynesville, Ohio at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio.  Online condolences may be sent via www.brucker-fisherfuneralhome.com
