     Wanda Winona Vickers Thacker was fatally injured as the result of a car-truck crash at 4:50am on Sunday April 6, 1969 in front of Dick and Jay’s Drive-In Restaurant on Route 23 North.  She died a short time later in Chillicothe Hospital.

      The State Patrol said the truck was stopped on the highway, assisting another vehicle.  The truck driver was charged with parking on the roadway. 

     Wanda was born in Ross County on December 23, 1939.  In November of 1958 she was married to Phillip Allen Thacker who survives.  Also surviving are her step-father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Don Jester, her grandfather, John Hill, and four brothers – Paul and Ronald Vickers and Don Jester, Jr. and Rickie Jester.  She was predeceased by a sister.

     Service was held at the Fawcett-Oliver Funeral Home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
