James R. Brown

James R. Brown, Sr. passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at home with Elaine by his side.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, granddaughter Ashley (whom he affectionately called Gourdhead and she lovingly called him Stumphead), a daughter, two grandsons, nieces, and nephews.

Jim always enjoyed his animals. Out of all of them there were three special ones – his buddy and protector Brutus Buckeye, his lap dog Peanut, and Jake the cat.

Jim retired from the Mead Paper Corp after 42 years of service; he was a member of UPIU Local 731. Jim was also a member of the Moose Lodge 1626, Sons of AMVETS Post 4, VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 108, American Legion Men’s Auxiliary Post 62, and the Masonic Temple Lodge Scioto 6, and a Golden Eagle member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 600.

The viewing will be held at WARE FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Ross County Honor and Color Guard (VFW Post 108, Attn: Ralph Roe) or to the Ross County Humane Society.

To the special people who were there to provide comfort, support and endless help, the family sends their love and appreciation.
