John Foltz

     John Norman Foltz, 77, of Chillicothe, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 26, 2018 at his home, following a battle with cancer.

     He was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late John and Beatrice (Trego) Foltz. Following the passing of his parents, he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Lewis (Fanny) Dawson. On June 1, 1999, he married Vicki (Acord) Foltz who survives.

     Also surviving are three children, Dane (Mandy) Foltz, Shelley (David) Dyer, and Ryan (Jodi) Foltz; four step-sons, Joseph (Norma) Manna II, Jason (Beth) Schobelock, Jeremy (Holly) Schobelock, and Jonathan (Suellen) Schobelock; six grandchildren, Michael Foltz, Daniel Foltz, Olivia White, Deanna Hartman, Brenden Foltz, and Meeha Foltz; numerous step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Eileen (Charles) Rowland; his nieces and cousins; the mother of his children, Sharon K. Foltz; his loving life-long friends and brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Marilyn) Hawk; special friends and neighbors, Sherry Smith, Paul (Marleah) Holton, and John (Betty) Virgin; the East Main St. McDonald’s Gang, as well as many other friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Adam Foltz.

     John was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1959. He went on to work at the Mead Paper Company before retiring after 44 years of employment. He loved cars, motorcycles, and attending car shows in his free time. He also loved helping his neighbors and passing out fruits and vegetables from his garden to everyone. He was an expert in anything mechanical and could fix anything that was broken. He was a knowledge holder of any and every subject imaginable, and could talk to you about it for hours. He was also known for his love of CB Radios and was known by his handle, Pleasure Seeker. But most of all, he loved his friends and family, and was a Hero to them all.

     The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Adena Cancer Center and the Adena Hospice Nurses for all of their support and care.

     In accordance with John’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or services.
