   Donald C. Manson Jr. of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the age of 78.  He was born on July 28, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the only child of Donald C. Manson, Sr. and Ruth (White) Manson.  On September 28, 1962 Don married the love of his life, Sharon (Frey) Manson.

   Surviving are his wife, Sharon, children, Skyla (Manson) and Gary Burns of Pickerington, Ohio, Matt and Shay Manson of Pritchett, Texas, grandchildren, Adam and Karina Burns of Pataskala, Ohio, Kylie (Burns) and Tim Brown of Pickerington, Ohio, one great-grandson, Vincent Hunter Burns, mother-in-law, Mary Lou Frey, sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Frey) and Terry Smith, several cousins, and extended family members.

   Don retired from Mead Westvaco Ohio Operations after 35 years. After a few years of retirement, Don began working for Bristol Village in the transportation department until he retired December 2018. Don loved working with the clients at Bristol, getting to hear about their lives and families.

   As a young adult, Don was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed working and teaching young people. Don loved camping, being outdoors, Star Trek, his family and friends, and was a Civil War buff. He was a member of Canal Church of Christ and enjoyed his church family.

   The family would like to especially thank some special neighbors for always being there, Jack, Jenni and Jacob Smathers, Janie Williams, Don and Lena Murray, and Barb Taphorn.

   The family will celebrate his life at the Canal Church of Christ, 122 North Street, Waverly, Ohio on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Ministers Zach Guiler and Tom Smith will be officiating.

   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canal Church of Christ and Bristol Village Volunteer group.
