Linda M. Owens (Swepston)

Linda M. (Owens) Swepston, 81, of Londonderry, entered into  Heaven on March 3, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness.  She was born on April 12, 1942, in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Jack and Sylvia E. (Cydrus) Owens.  On October 15, 1961, she was united in marriage with her loving husband and sweetheart, Ollen E. Swepston, who survives.

    Linda is also survived by her beloved children, Heidi (Randy) Seitz, of Londonderry, Faith (David) Swackhammer, of Jackson, and Dwane E. Swepston, of Kingston; grandchildren whom she adored, Kaci (Chris) Mavis, Evan (Olivia) Seitz, Tyler (Jessica) Swackhammer, Brandon (Sarah) Swepston, and Holly (Jared) McLeland; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jayden and Jaxon Swackhammer, Cain and Khloe Mavis, and Grahm Swepston; and numerous other special family members and friends whom she cherished.

    In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Owens, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Swepston. 

    Linda was a 1959 graduate of Chillicothe High School and thoroughly enjoyed being the bus driver of Bus 10 for Zane Trace Local Schools for several years. She considered the children on her bus to be her own and she is remembered fondly by those passengers all these years later. Linda was a member of Brookside Church and served as a 4-H advisor for many years. She had a passion for quilting, ceramics, tole painting and bowling. Although, her greatest passion was spending time with her husband and family and traveling with those she loved.    

   The family would like to send a special thanks to Linda’s care team that provided extraordinary service during her illness including Adena Hospice, Dr. Seidensticker and Bill, Kaci Mavis, Autumn, Vicki R., Vicki D., Carrie, Sherri, Jessie, Carla, Shay, Shelley Kutschbach, Ginger, Kara, Yvonne, Deneda, and Cameron. 

    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Kingston with Rev. Jack Norman and Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery, Adelphi. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Hill’s.
