Class Scholarship?

After our 35x2 Class Birthday Party I sent an issue of Class NewsBriefs asking classmates whether or not you would be interested in using some of the money in our class treasury to begin a scholarship fund, known as the Class of 59 Scholarship - or something similar.  It would probably be awarded to a graduate of C.H.S., but we would be open for suggestions.  My cousin offered to lend us the verbiage he used for a similar scholarship sponsored by his Jackson (Ohio) class.

Jim Doersam then e-mailed me saying he is on the board of a charitable organization which would handle the paperwork for our class if we choose to begin a class scholarship.  This week he sent me another e-mail saying: I have hesitated to bring this up, but I think it is time for the Class of '59 to make a lasting impact.  Our class reunions, All Class Reunions, the news letter you provide, the "Class Creator", the birthday celebrations and the monthly breakfast are all wonderful functions that keep our class together and informed. On the other hand it appears that only a small percent of our class is involved in these events.  The question is, would members of our class, both in town and out of town, financially support a scholarship fund in our class name for graduates of CHS?

So, now I am posing this question as a survey on Class Creator.  Please take the time to respond when you have made a decision on this matter.  Thank you very much. - Charlotte
