WANDA M. HATFIELD GESSELLS


After a long and courageous battle with cancer,
Wanda M. Gessells, 45, who lived on Johnson Road
lost the battle but won the war,
as she went home 5:53 p.m. Dec. 29, 1989 to live with her Lord and Savior
of whom she loved dearly.
Mrs. Gessells, who was married June 28, 1964
to Richard T. Gessells who survives,
celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this summer.
She was born Jan. 28, 1944, in Chillicothe to Muhrel R. and Florence Rutter Hatfield.
She is survived by her parents who live in Columbus.
Also surviving are daughters and sons-in-laws, Cynthia and James Parker,
Deborah and Jeffrey Mullins, all of Chillicothe;
sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas M. and Rhonda Gessells, Richmond, Va.,
E/4 Paul Daniel and Adessa Gessells, U.S. Army, Carlisle Barracks, Pa.;
two grandsons, Kyle Thomas Gessells, and Joseph Michael Parker;
three sisters, Mrs. Don (Shirley) Keller, Chaparell, New Mexico,
Mrs. Richard (Peggy) Smith, Lancaster,
Lola Myers, Chillicothe;
four brothers Russell Hatfield, Lancaster,
Robert Hatfield and Richard Hatfield, both of Columbus,
John Hatfield, Kansas City, Missouri;
many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gessells was an active member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church
where she had been in the choir,
had taught Sunday School
and had served on several boards of the church.
She was a former employee of the Big Bear in Central Center.
Funeral Services are to be held 1 p.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church
where the casket will remain closed. Rev. James Thomas will officiate.
Friends may call at the Ware Funeral Home 6-9 p.m. today.
