MARK D. MUMFORD Mark D. Mumford, 60, of Chillicothe passed from this life Monday evening, Aug. 11, 2003, after winning his long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Chillicothe, the son of Frank and Evelyn Dearth Mumford. On Nov. 4, 1978, he married Joy S. Miller, who survives. Surviving are his mother, Evelyn McKeever, Chillicothe; a daughter and son-in-law, Ronelle M. and Chuck Wiley, Chillicothe; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg A. and Darlene Fisher, Frankfort, and Mark F. and Candi Mumford, Chillicothe; and grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, Justin, Tommy, Danny, Maranda, Corissa, Tyler M. and Tyler J. Stepfathers, Norman Presley and James McKeever; a sister, Carol Tinney; and a brother, Wayne Mumford preceded him in death. Mr. Mumford was retired from Mead Paper after 26 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Brookside Church of Christ in Christian Union, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
