Linda Kay Ross Thayer

Linda Kay Thayer, 64, left us unexpectedly Tuesday evening, December 30, 2008, and was lifted up to eternal life in heaven.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Ware Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Wares from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (today).

Linda was born November 30, 1944, in Chillicothe, to the late Thurman C. and Dorothy M. (Stigler) Ross. In January 1986, she married Phillip B. Thayer, who survives.

She is also survived by one sister, Sue Ross Lasek, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Kimberly (Stan) Piotrowski, of Marlton, N.J. and Tracey (Jim) Shanton, of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren, Stas Piotrowski, Zach Piotrowski, Dustin Shanton, Tia Shanton and Chase Shanton; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Richard A. Ross, Jack V. Ross and Junior S. Ross

Linda retired in 2003 from Mead Westvaco Corp., where she worked for over 40 years. She was a member of Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church.
