Doris Elizabeth Thomas (McCrary)

Doris Elizabeth McCrary, 63, of 1036 John Street, Washington, C.H.
died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. shortly after arrival
at Fayette County Memorial Hospital.  Her death was sudden and
unexpected.   
Mrs. McCrary was born Sept. 16, 1940 in Ross County
at Frankfort to Hiram and Eleanor Dixon Thomas.  She moved to
Washington C.H. in 1967 from Chillicothe.    She retired in April 2001
as a Lieutenant at the Madison County Correction Facility after 14
years of service.  She was presently working at Wal-Mart in Wilmington.
Mrs. McCrary was a member of the Second Baptist Church in
Washington C.H. 
She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Mrs. McCrary is survived by her husband, O.D. McCrary whom she
married May 6, 1963; four sons, LeValle McCrary a nd his wife, Mary, of 909 Glenn Avenue,
Shannon McCrary and his wife, Raphaella of Fort Benning, GA and Otis and Delmar McCrary
both of Columbus; a Daughter, Celeste McCrary of Columbus; five grandchildren, Shadaisha,
Jamrin and Jamisah McCrary, Alexis Desselles and Tempest Ryan; a brother, Howard Thomas
of Chillicothe; three sisters, Judy Brown of Elyria, Ohio and Josephine Wingo and Georgia Jones
and her husband, Melvin, all of Chillicothe.   
The funeral will be W ednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church, 828 Columbus Avenue with the Rev. Sandy Sanders and
the Rev. Howard Gray officiating.  Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.  Friends may
call at the Kirk-Patrick Funeral Home in Washington Court House on Tuesday from 4 to8 p.m.
