Carl “Lee” West, 77, of Athens passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born November 20, 1944, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of the late Luster and Delores Clark West. Lee was married to the late Joyce Elaine Kinney West. Lee was a retired Stationary Engineer with Ohio University and the State of Ohio - Department of Corrections. He was a founding member of the Chillicothe Enduro Riders Association in 1968. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of Delta Masonic Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur. Lee is survived by his sons, Carl L. (Ryan McDonnell) West II of Medina, Corey (Amanda) West of McArthur and grandsons Brayden and Blaine West of McArthur. He is also survived by a daughter from his first marriage Tashia Ramey of Circleville, a granddaughter, Erica (Brady) Clifton, of Stoutsville, great-granddaughters, Harper and Peyton Clifton and great-grandson, Boone Clifton. Sister Becky (Arlan) Humble of Piketon and nephews Thomas (Lanita) Humble of Xenia and Timothy Humble of Piketon. As well as his Bob Evans friends, Robin and Jesse in particular. In addition to his wife, Joyce and his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Laura Elizabeth West and in-laws Ralph and Margie Murray Kinney. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
