Warner Wingo

WARNER E. WINGO Warner E. Wingo, 56, of Chillicothe, died Monday, February 1, 1999, at 7:45 p.m. at his residence following an extended illness. He was born August 2, 1942 in Chillicothe, to Warner O. and Gwendolyn Harris Wingo, who are deceased. On November 28, 1984, he married, Barbara J. Knece, who survives. Also surviving, are sons and daughters-in-law, James E. (Jennifer) Wingo, Westland, Mich., John E. (Dawn) Wingo, Livonia, Mich., and Todd E. George, Chillicothe, daughters and son-in law, Tasha M. Workman, Chillicothe, and Bridgett A. (Todd) Wiegand, Columbus; grandson, Devin J. Wingo, granddaughter, Jordan L. Workman; brothers and sisters-in-law, William F. (Laura) Wingo, and Wayne A. (Nancy) Wingo; sisters and brother-in-law, Warnetta Jean Wingo and Karen S. (Tim) Mosley; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, including special aunts, Clara Dixon and Stella Tanner, and cousin Joyce Harris; sister-in-law, Karen Young, Zanesville; and godchildren, Bryan R. Smith, Jr. Sierra and Aaron Harris and Tiara and Mariah Smith. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Judy Fouts. Mr. Wingo was employed at CCI and most recently the Mead Paper Co. Police Department before retiring in 1993 after 15 years of service. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, member of the Brotherhood of Zion and member of Zion Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, at 1 p.m. with Rev. J. Troy Gray officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St.
