Clarence Lockhart Woods

CHILLICOTHE: Clarence Lockhart Woods, 68, of Chillicothe, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at home following an extended illness.

He was born April 27, 1944, in Ross County, to the late Orville and Grace Tanner Woods. On August 28, 1964, he married the former Connie J. Hutchison, his wife of 47 years, who survives; also surviving are his children, Carol J. (Russell) Welch, Jeffrey C. (Julie) Woods, Sandy L. (Rick) Carter and Jason H. (Jennifer) Woods, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Joshua, Ryan and Brianna Welch, Haley, Jeffrey, Laura and Adam Woods, Heather, Jeremiah and Jacob Cox and Taylor, Andrew and Jacilynn Woods; great grandchildren, Jordan Green and Amara Welch; a sister, Margaret (Howard) Detty, of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters, Jenny Shackleford and Evelyn Scott; and a brother, Homer Woods.

Clarence was a member of Community United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Titler officiating. Friends may call at Ware's from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service Saturday evening.
