speaking of runins with the stars....we all remember tone loc! well let me tell you, thanks to yours truely, tone will never forget chillicothe. the night started with too much drinking and ended the same way. after a pint of jim beam to myself before ever getting to the backstage, then $65 worth of mixed drinks, there i am in the friont row jammin. i think he was doing wild thing when i lost it...all reason out the window. a buddy of mine said i looked at him and with noone behind my eyes i said "watch this". i turned and threw my entire drink , glass and all at the man himself, hitting him in the chest and drenching his jersey. the rest is pretty blurry, i was attacked from all sides, bouncers and body gaurds taking their turns kickin my ass...hehe i came to after being tossed on my hip outside, i looked up to see a nice officer walking towards me. lake told him i was ok and too let me walk. which i did. around the corner then tried to climb in to my 78 chevy 4x4. it had an 8 inch lift and 38 inch tires. i couldn't get in...lol eventually a few buddies showed up helped me in and drove me home. the ride home was quite intense also, but thats another story....so if you see tone loc, tell him chillicothe said hi. moral of the story....dont follow in my footsteps....i haven't drank since march 11 this year, and have no desire to go back to my old ways. but theres alot of funny stories to be told....jj

I have a question for everybody that has children. Especially those that caused their parents some or a lot of grief during high school. Did anyone go to their parents and apologize for what you did as a kid and a teenager?

When i became i step-dad back in 1990 that was one of the first things i did.

Just curious if anyone else has any thoughts on the subject.

Every DAY I mentally apologize to my Mom. I was not a wild child, but as a kid, I was certainly very stubborn and bull-headed with my mom about many things. I was a super-picky eater, had to do things my way and when I wanted to do it...and I'm sure I threw some Oscar-worthy tantrums. My middle son (just 3) is me. He has a shirt that reads "I'm Grandma's Payback" and it's 100% the truth. But I love that spirited child to the moon and back.

Ummm...YES, I have apologized to my parents several times. I was not wild either...but I was very mouthy and self centered. I am also getting it back - my daughter is a mini me.

Happy New Year all!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! hope everyone had a wonderfull time.
what will this year bring us? change? diversity? more money? higher prices? will there be peace among us? who really knows? only thing i can say, " i cant wait to find out" i am blessed to live in these times. we have been witness to amazing technilogical advances. remember your first vcr? or should i say betamax? them first remotes? with a cord? how was that remote? so we used that idea on our phones. a tangled blob of cord forever hung.
we got to use the first microwaves. this machine took up the entire counter and took 3 men to bring it in the house. we wern't allowed to stand next to it when it was cooking. there was a great big dial, like flavor flavs clock, that hung there manacingly enough, with a huge freezer type handle. scary
we then saw cordlessness take over our worlds. phones, tv remotes, rc cars, walkmen, calculators, including a watch, screwdrivers, and just about all tools now.
we were witness to the first computers...remember the great big apple at the library. home video games, i still have an atari 2600, along with other "vintage" games.
cell phones, portable computers, fax machines,i pods, battery powered cars, 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, lamborghinis, singing fish, the simpsons, oj simpson, jessica simpson, bell bottoms, tight rolls, then bell bottoms again, i could go on and on listing things that have been invented on my clock. the list would be endless, useless, and probably a bore. but we lived it, and continue living it. like the longest movie in history. will you make it till the credits run, i doubt it, but half the fun is trying....right. so if i dont see ya before my stack of quarters runs out, i lived, i laughed, and i have loved. each person has purpose and fate is all around us. we just have to be looking for the signs. i wish you lots of love and happiness in 2009.

What's up everyone!!!! Reunion is coming quickly and I cannot wait to see everyone!! I thought I might offer everyone an opportunity to relive a little high school excitement. As some of you know, and for those of you who do not, I am an assistant football coach at our glorious alma mater...LET'S GO CAVS..LET'S GO CAVS..LET'S GO CAVS!!! The friday night of our reunion weekend we play at Ironton. Ironton is one of our two biggest rivals in the SEOAL the league we are now in. They are leaving our league after this year and are desperate to beat us on their way out. If anyone would be interested in an old fashion road trip, tailgating and cheering us on to victory I, and the football program would endlessly appreciate your support. I will definitely be joining everyone at The Dock when we return hopefully to revel in victory and hang out with everyone from our class. Just keep it in mind while you are making your plans for the weekend. Thanks everybody, cannot wait to see everyone!!!!!!!!

My mom sent this to me and I thought some of us were experience this very thing with our kids. ENJOY!!

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!
If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look aro und and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!

Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... forever!
And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel! NO REMOTES!!!

There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!

Regards,
The Over 30 Crowd
