Carl Harris

This was a guy that I grew up with my whole life, I end up having a daughter (mersadees) with his sister. but as kids we done it all, camping out, hunting, sports there is no end to it, he made me laugh all the time, he was quiet mostly around girls, kind of shy, me mike beatty, and Jr netter, and matt lewis (mouch) we all hung together, tight Oh and bobby lytle, Jason had a sickness that alot of people did not know, only his close friends, but we understood him, not coming from much, he done alot on his own or took what we gave him, I remember I gave him my first pair of jordans that came out and it lit up his face and jason could play basketball not many of you know that he could shot on the outside on the base line better than anyone of our basketball team, but his illness kept him from playing a long game of anysort, I still can hear him as I went to try and block his shot once and If you know jason these was his word (get up I said get UP) and laugh as he ran back to the other side before the ball went in the net. when jason past I was very hurt, he had a song playing the day they found him in bed (the end of the road/by boys 2 men) and not a day goes by if I hear that song I think of jason and I chuckle a bit or shed a tear for him, he is laid to rest in frankfort, OHIO where I grew up and was born with jason at, right beside my grandfather and my most favorite uncle, I don't Know what else to say but thats my cat, !!!!!!!!!! I LOVE JASON friends forever!!!!!!!!

When Jason transferred to Mt. Logan (7th grade I think) from Frankfort, I was assigned to show him to his locker and help with his class schedule. A solid friendship developed since that first day. Those who knew Jason best can attest his true love was basketball. He had one of the best corner jump shots I have ever seen. As pure as his jump shot was, his personality was even purer. Jason rarely had a bad word to say in any situation and his quiet laugh could make anyone smile. He never let his condition affect his attitude around friends. I know myself, Carl H, JR Netter, Matt Lewis, Geoff D and others shared a lot of good times with Jason.

Two of my fondest memories:

My first Gus Macker B-Ball Tournament. It was Jason, Carl, Geoff and I. We took 2nd in our bracket. I don’t think Jason had ever been that tired in his life. But when they handed him the trophy, he forgot all about the fatigue and never stopped smiling.

Another was a small house party at Carl’s. It was Carl, Jason, I and our dates; in summary we had a blast. The night ended when Carl’s parents busted up the party after Carl threw up all over the kitchen table.

I really miss his laugh and watching him “bus’that J” from the corner.
