Ivan Ny Schedel 

December 4, 1962 - July 22, 2008

Ivan Nye Schedel, 45, of San Diego, died Tuesday (July 22, 2008), of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at Zion Hospital in Kiser, Calif. He was born Dec. 4, 1962, in Erie, Pa., a son of Manford Nye and Jeannette L. Goldsmith Schedel. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, he then worked for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Air Station in Coronado, Calif., as a pneudraulic systems specialist. His interests were many, including working on Volkswagens, mechanical and electrical work. He was a San Diego Padres fan.

Survivors include his parents, Manford N. and Jeannette Schedel of Pittsfield and Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Sallie Bowers of Pittsfield and Jennifer Sanford of Chula Vista; one niece, Brooke Sanford; two nephews, Michael Bowers and Derrick Sanford; and two aunts, Audrey Clements and Doris Ann Montgomery, both of Bryantown, Md. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Daniel Bowers.
