In a Message Forum post, Steve Gaible provides this insight:

Jerry Rosenwald obit: he has been a hotrodder most of his life. When I bought my first car in 1960- a '53 Olds Super 88 for $360 @ Ridge Motors, Jerry explained that it was the big engine in the small model. He showed me how to put it in low, foot on the brake, and rev it up- then let go to create a burn out.
He owned several 'rods' all of them Fords. His last, a '48 2 door sedan, was parked in his steep driveway, when his grandson shifted it to neutral, and it rolled into his garage with front end damage, and no injuries. His son replaced the grille and a fender, and continues to take it to car shows. Jerry was a salesman for Williams Ford, until he became ill. I visited with him a month before he died. The services were held on a rainy day, but some of his buddies honored his memory by showing up in their rods.
