And speaking of music - did you know that Steve Isaacson sang in a folk-music group, the Town Criers, that performed in coffee houses & college campuses all over the country and on Regis Philbin's TV show in the early '60's? Their careers were on the rise as the top contenders to replace the famous Limeliters when 4 young upstarts from Great Britain pushed folk music out of the spotlight! Go to Steve's page to hear their reunion CD "Journey" that was recorded in 1993. Enjoy the music & you can send Steve a note!

Gertrude (Schilling) Kazmi's husband Ifti lost his battle (at home with hospice) with Parkinson's disease on August 30th, 2011.
Condolences to Ed Kirksey, whose beloved Ada (Mrs. Kirksey for 47 1/2 years) passed away last October.

CHS Commemorative Yearbook Covers Poster
The CHS Yearbook Team has created a poster depicting every CHS yearbook cover from 1913 to 2011 in celebration of the CHS Centennial year. The poster was on display at the All-Alumni Reunion, prompting lots of inquiries. The price is $25 and includes shipping or $20 if you pick it up at CHS. It will be available for delivery or pickup in June.

Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) Centennial
Many of us were active in Scouting in Claremont. In a move designed to focus national attention on girls and the issues they face, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) has declared 2012 the Year of the Girl: a celebration of girls, recognition of their leadership potential, and a commitment to creating a coalition of like-minded organizations and individuals in support of balanced leadership in the workplace and in communities across the country.
GSUSA prepares to celebrate its centennial in 2012, using this important moment in its history to launch a major initiative to change the landscape for girls and young women. During the Year of the Girl, local Girl Scout offices nationwide will mix celebrations of the organization's 100 years as the premier leadership experience for girls with efforts to create a sense of urgency around girls' issues.

CHS ALUMNI Monthly Breakfast!
On the first Saturday of every month, alumni of various classes of Claremont High School gather for breakfast at the Village Grille. The breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. in the Banquet Room. Stop by and get re-aquainted with 'old' friends from '57, '58, '59, '60, '61, etc.
