Nice guy and good family man. Loved his kids. Had not been in good health for years. He died recently, within the last six months.

Joe was a good friend of mine. We were in the same home room, and often walked home from Heights together. I would sometime fill in for him, delivering meat for his dad's kosher butcher shop.

We didn't keep in touch much, though I did visit him in 2000, when I was in Cleveland for the first time in twenty years. He was happy about buying an electric guitar, his daughter's career, and his religious studies.

He was a very sweet person, and I was stunned to hear he was gone.
