I've had a very rewarding career with the US government administering federal labor laws and was fortunate to be one of the first staff members of the Federal Labor Relations Authority (after stints with the National Labor Relations Board and the US Department of Labor). I never thought law school was in my future when I attended the University of Cincinnati concentrating in political science. Then it was on to the University of Illinois for a master's in labor relations. Mid-career, I decided to bite the bullet and entered the night law school program at the University of Maryland while still retaining my day position.
The career was great - had some wonderful opportunities to conduct business at the Panama Canal, work with top notch political appointees and, best of all, retire at a fairly young age!
I travel to Cleveland frequently to spend time with family. When I drive down Cedar Rd. and pass Heights High, I smile.
