I knew Jeff well from Men's Chorus. It was freshman year at college when Kent State happened, and I reacted in horror and anger when I heard the name Jeffrey Miller among the four dead in Ohio. It wasn't until a few days later that it was a different Jeffrey Miller, thank God.
Goodbye old friend.

Having known Jeff since junior high at Wiley, we went through several stages of life together.

From young teens exploring female relationships, through college exploring the outside world of  politics and drugs, initial careers, into business working with our fathers, getting married, owning homes, getting re-married, and getting older.

From going to Kelley's Island with our girlfriends, to experiencing new music directions of the 60's, to figuring out how to make sales and professionaly handling our clients, to cutting and maintaining our yards and grass (and yes, experiencing medicinal benefits, too), to working with the Cedar Center Kiwanis for community benefits (like donating uniforms to athletes at Bellfaire - and then playing basket ball against teenagers there - omg, we found half-court was almost too much), to taking care of our dogs (his beagle was not allowed in the kitchen when we were eating - great training!), business lunches at Harley Davidson's, double dates, apartments on Rockside, to visits between Ohio State and Kent State, to our first cars - eventually with cb's and then car phones, to sharing the experience of children - devoted to creating good futures.

Jeff was there - in the good times when we could laugh and enjoy the world, and in times of heartache when the world was a bit tougher.   And the world was better because of Jeff - his stint of teaching special ed, volunteering at the Cleveland Clinic (volunteer of the year - truly deserving of that recognition) and with AA.

If there is a heaven, Jeff is there making friends, working on setting up sales, and thinking of his family - the loves and children, and friends.  Lucky to have had him in our lives.   RIP.
