I had no idea Doug had died...

We both bought identical Yamaha 250's in the spring of 1969 and spent many days exploring the roads of eastern Ohio together.

I still chuckle when I read his inscription in my Cauldron.."To a future Hell's Angle" (sic). I was never sure if he was kidding or misspelling....

God's speed, Doug.

Very sad to learn that Doug has died -- and 17 years ago! He was one of our gang of approx. 10 enthusiastic ping pong (in some cases "table tennis") players who met for several hours after school on countless Friday afternoons (during '68 & '69) in the unfinished but spacious basement of my home at the corner of Superior & Redwood. He was entertainingly competitative, an average player amongst our group, always friendly. During that period he had his own car -- a muscle car (Firebird? Camaro?). His favorite, rather unique expression whenever losing a point was "mother of pearl"... I have no idea how he died; never heard of him after '69.
