In Memory of

Ann Louise Handy, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Blueberry Hill Rehabilitation Center in Beverly. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Ann was the daughter of the late Dr. Abran Ernest and Eleanor (Thomas) Handy. Ann attended Hathaway Brown School for Girls in Shaker Heights, Ohio. In 1969, she graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and then continued her education at Purdue University. In 1973, Ann obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Baldwin Wallace College. After graduation, she had internship as a registered dietician at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland. In 1975, Ann became a registered dietician. She then continued her education and in 1976, Ann earned a Master of Science Degree in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. After finishing her master's degree, Ann began teaching Nutritional Education at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital. In 1978, she returned to her alma mater and became an instructor in Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University. In 1981, Ann moved to Beverly and began working at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Clinical Dietician for several years. In 1986, she started working for Spaulding Rehabilitation in Boston and in 2000, she began working for North Shore Medical Center in Salem, where she worked for thirteen years. Ann enjoyed living near the beach, her dogs, horseback riding, sailing, travelling, and listening to classical music. She was also a member of the Church of the Savior in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Ann is survived by her brother, Thomas Handy, of Boston. Services for Ann will be held privately. Margie Hershberger (Kluska)

I'm so sorry to hear about Ann's passing.  She was a very sweet person and I have many fond memories of her particularly in band and music competition.  We both played flute in Monticello Junior High and won several awards in flute duet and quartet competitions.  My condolences to Ann's family and friends. - Margie Hershberger Kluska
