In Memory

Richard P. Morrison

In Memory Of

Richard P. (Ricky) Morrison, 73, of Mentor, passed away on Jan. 21, 2025. Richard was born on Oct. 17, 1951, in Cleveland,  Ohio..

Richard was a highly regarded attorney practicing criminal law in Lake County. He was also at one time a prosecuting attorney in Lake County Courts. He worked hard all his life, hardly taking time off for vacations. Law was his life.

Richard was a frequent visitor at the Mentor Senior Center where he held court. He was the unofficial coach of the chair volleyball team. He practiced yoga in the classes held there and was surrounded by his loving friends at the senior center. He spent his spare time bird watching (in the little down time he allowed himself).

Richard was the dear brother of Fern (Melvyn) Deutsch and cherished uncle of Lindsey (Michael) Steinberger, both of Reminderville. He was predeceased by his parents Howard and Mildred Morrison.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 23 at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel at 1985 South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights. Interment will follow in the Park Synagogue section of Bet Olam Cemetery at 25796 Chagrin Blvd. in Beachwood.

The family will receive friends following burial until 8 p.m., from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 24 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 25 at the residence of Fern and Melvyn Deutsch at 10356 Maryland St. in Reminderville.

Contributions in memory of Richard are suggested to the Deepwood Foundation (Deepwood Foundation C/O Broadmoor School, 8090 Broadmoor Rd., Mentor, OH 44060 or deepwoodfoundation.org/) or the Mentor Senior Center (mentorseniorcenter.com/).

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left at bkbmc.com for the Morrison family.

Arrangements under the direction of Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel.
