Fern M. Allen (nee Wehagen), 84, a longtime resident of Lake and Cuyahoga Counties, passed away December 22, 2020 at The Avenue of Broadview Heights. Born June 25, 1936 in Cleveland, OH.Fern was a graduate of Collinwood High School, Class of 1954, where she was first chair cellist in the orchestra. Fern also attended The Music Settlement in Cleveland. 

Fern was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who made her so proud. Fern was a lifelong sports fan. In her earlier days, along with her husband, she dedicated much of her time supporting The Northeast Little League. Fern was also involved in the Eastlake North Boosters and volunteered her time assisting with the Grace Episcopal Church newsletter. As an avid sports fan, Fern was always seen sporting the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Ohio State gear on game days. 

Fern is survived by her six children: Ann (Patrick) Corbett, Lawrence (Sheila), Faith (Gregory) Yee, Rachel (Glenn) Ebbert, Edward (Mary Palumbo), and Amy Jo (Greg) Washabaugh; two sisters, Betty (Jack) Taylor and Clare McElroy; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and friends. Fern is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence R. Allen, her parents, Marvin and Rachel (Johnson) Wehagen, and grandson Michael Corbett. 

Cremation was handled by the funeral home. For the safety of family and friends, no formal services will be held. A private burial service will take place at Grace Episcopal Church Memorial Gardens in Willoughby, Ohio. Her family would like to thank Brookdale of Mentor Assisted Living Facility, Faulhaber Funeral Home, the Avenue at Broadview Heights Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Elara Hospice for her most recent care.
