James Ray Albertson, 70, of Colorado Springs, passed away on June 2, 2015.He was born to the late Delbert and Betty Aileen Albertson, April 29th, 1945, in Colorado Springs. Jim graduated from Air Academy High School in 1963 and went on to the Air Force in 1965. He married Joan Renes on February 6, 1973. They lived in Black Forest throughout their marriage, after building an addition on to Jim's childhood home. Jim worked at Ampex corporation for 23 years as an electronic technician, as well as DirecTV for 13 years. He was great at fixing anything and everything! Cars were his passion. His greatest passion was drag racing, and working on the racer itself, a 1956 Chevy. Jim is survived by his wife and two children: Joan Albertson, of Colorado Springs; Jacob Albertson and his wife, Jennifer, of Florence; and Janel and her husband, Josh Beard, of Fort Collins. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and eight brothers and sisters.
