Ross Maruscak

Ross Jared Maruscak, of Pasadena, CA,  on Saturday May 8, 2004. Ross died peacefully in his father's home at the age of 32 after a lengthy battle with leukemia. Ross had fought multiple cancers for nearly nine years with immeasurable courage and determination. He never gave up hope for his cure and inspired all those around him. His family believes it was his sheer will to live that kept him here with us for so long. Ross's Spirit shown brightly through many disappointments and heartaches. His capacity to love others was rich and boundless. Ross is best known for his sense of humor, and was a joy to be near. His journey was one of hope that his cure would be found. To all that knew and loved him, and know how hard he fought, we rejoice in his life and are relieved his suffering has finally ended. Ross is survived by his wife, Mercedes (Marschke) Maruscak of Pasadena,CA, his mother Darla Mairs of Bellingham WA, his father Ralph Maruscak of Ross Twp., Ralph's companion Lynn Duddy, his brother Brandon of Columbus, OH, our extensive family and friends, and Ross's best friend, John Hoberg.

He was always so full of life and seemed to always keep a positive and humorous attitude! It was definitely contagious to those around him. Being in class with him always seemed to brighten everyone's day, including mine. You are missed.

Forrest Neuswanger

One of my fondest memories of Ross (other than that fake newsletter he and David Janusz did just before we graduated, which was hysterical!), was when he got his Latin teacher to allow him to use his calculator on the final exam. She thought he was just goofing around because he was such a cut up. She had no idea that the new fancy calculators we all had were programmable and he was using his as a cheat sheet!

Ross was just Cool. And all the memories I have of him, Cool. He was the Happy Days Best two characters just in one body - Ralph Malph + The Fonz = Ross.
