Gary F. "Bogey" Bogart

CONCORDIA — Gary F. “Bogey” Bogart, 72, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Republic County Hospital, Belleville. He was born Aug. 12, 1943, in Concordia to Joseph S. and Celia B. (Hubert) Bogart.

Gary graduated from Concordia Catholic High School in 1961. He married Marilyn J. Mosher on Nov. 27, 1965, in Concordia.

Gary worked for the Concordia Police Department before entering the U.S. Army and serving during the Vietnam War. Upon his return from active duty, he went back to work for the police department and later worked for 35 years for Aquila Electric until his retirement in 2008.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, American Legion Post 76, past member of Moose Lodge 1428 and VFW Post 588. He enjoyed hunting, bow hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Concordia; daughters, Diane (Dan) Morrissette, of Concordia, and Annette (Randy) Beaumont, of Assaria; sisters, Alice (Fred) Lowell, of Kansas City, Mo., Carol Thomason, of Gallup, N.M., and Sheryl (Leland) Tice, of Mankato; brother, David (Linda) Bogart, of Concordia; grandchildren, Jake (Charissa) Morrissette, of Farmington, N.M., Anna Morrissette, of Hutchinson, and Allie and Amber Beaumont, both of Assaria; his best friend, Jim “Red” Lanoue, of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and James Bogart.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Redmond officiating. Burial with military honors by Fort Riley and American Legion Post 76 will follow in St. Concordia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Gary Bogart Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
