Concordia Blade Empire-Aug 19, 1969
Thomas L. White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Armand Racette of Concordia and Maynard White of Salina was born Aug. 7, 1946 in Belleville, Kansas.
Tom as his friends called him, attended school in Belleville and Concordia and graduated from Notre Dame high school in Concordia in 1964. On Nov. 9, 1966 Tom enlisted in the U.S. navy in Salina. During his military service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit commendation, the MUC ribbon bar, Vietnam Service Medal and on Jan. 30, 1969 received his honorable release from active duty. Tom was still on the inactive service list. Tom was baptized in the Catholic faith on Dec. 18, 1955.
At the time of the accident which claimed his life on Aug. 13, 1969 he was employed by a landscape design company in Norristown, PA.
Tom was especially enthusiastic in high school sports and received numerous letters, medals and recognition awards in football, basketball and track at Notre Dame High.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond LeRoy. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Mrs. Peter (Beverley) Scholl, West Patterson, N.J. and Mrs. James (Delores Mae) Bombardier, Concord, Calif.; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Mosher of Concordia; four nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church Saturday morning, Aug. 17, 1969. Rev. Moeder, who baptized Tom, assisted with the funeral services. Burial was in the Belleville cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Kearn, Louis Thrash, Leroy Tholstrup, Dal Garlow, Roger Garlow and Richard E. Istas.

Thomas Lee White, son of Maynard and Ruth White was born August 8, 1946 at Belleville and died near Norristown, Pa., August 13 in a two car accident.
His early education was in Belleville at which time he was a member of the First Methodist church.
He moved to Concordia where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He received his discharge January 30, 1969 after serving as a navy barber.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.
Survivors are: his father, Maynard of Salina, his mother, Ruth Racette of Concordia: two sisters, Mrs. Beverley Scholl of West Patterson, N.J., Dolores Mae Bombardier of Concord, Calif., four nieces.
Services were held Saturday, August 16, 9:30 a.m. at Concordia with interment in the Belleville Cemetery.
