Aug. 24, 1971 - April 19, 2017

Nathan E. Damewood Jr., 45, of Coos Bay, the son of Nathan Sr. and Sally Damewood, passed away April 19, 2017 in Coos Bay from complications of juvenile diabetes.

Nate was born Aug. 24, 1971, in Stuttgart, Germany, he grew up on military bases in Germany, Kentucky and Hawaii. A graduate of Marshfield High School, Class of 1989, his passions included breakdancing, ROTC, and Tae Kwon Do, in which he earned a black belt. After graduation he went on to deckhand for Betty Kay Charters and pursued a trade in sheetmetal, until his health failed him. His proudest accomplishment and greatest joy was being a father to his son, Nate III.

Nate Jr. is survived by his son; Nate III; his parents, Nate Sr. and Sally; his sister, Trish; his brother, Will and their families; along with a multitude of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many life-long friends.

Nate’s family will have a private celebration of his life and would want you to know he was a badass warrior with a never give up attitude. By his wishes, his final resting place will be at Pali Lookout on Oahu, Hawaii.
