Bill died on August 9, 1976 of self-inflicted gunshot wound.  He was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs.  He was discharged from the U.S. Army in Septermber, 1975.  Bill was employed at Midwest Walnut.

Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs LeRoy Jacks, three sisters, Mrs Renee Hendrix, Rosalie Jacks, and Karen Jacks, grandparents, Mr and Mrs Hans Pedersen and Mrs Hazel Jacks. Interment is at Ridgewood Cemetery.
