James M. Thomas, 22, of 2629 S. 11th St. drowned Saturday at Lake Manawa.  He was pronounced dead on arrival at a Council Bluffs hospital.

A Bluffs native, Thomas was a truck driver for Silvey Trucking Company, a 1974 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and a Vietnam veteran.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Thomas of Council Bluffs, two sisters, Mrs. Linda Hite of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Kathy Colwell of Henderson, Nev. and his grandmother, Mrs. John C. Thomas of Council Bluffs.
